Squirrels eating your birds out of the house?

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Fred Sanders, you used to hear him on Magic on the weekends now he’s our inhouse copy writer, shared with me his brand new purchase!  The Yankee Flipper Bird Feeder.  This thing actually keeps the squirrels away!  Well, maybe not.  They may find the Yankee Flipper so much fun, they can’t keep away!

This bird feeder, Yankee Flipper, has a built in motor so when the squirrels hop on, they go spinning!  It’s hilarious.  At $119 the entertainment factor gets 5 stars!  If you have a problem with squirrels eating your birds out of their houses… then maybe you should get a Yankee Flipper Bird House!  Watch this:

light.jpg  This weekend, I actually put a light in the ceiling of our home office.  I wired the thing ALL BY MYSELF!  Unbelievable.  Let me give you some background on this.

I wanted to change all the light fixtures in our house.  I married an Electrical Engineer, so I thought, sure, he would love to wire up some lights for me.  NO!  So I said fine, I’ll do it myself :)  I went out and bought light fixtures, ceiling fans… everything I needed.  Then the day came to acutally switch out the fixture in the office.  I couldn’t do it.  I started cutting wires, breaking a sweat… not because it was hot, but b/c I didn’t know what I was doing.  Well, well, well, John did come in and put the light up.  We did it together.

Now, yesterday, I took down the light the we had put up together b/c it turns out, that neither one of us really liked the light I had bought.  So I went to Lowe’s in Simpsonville yesterday, picked up a new fixture and put that baby up all by myself!  I learned from the last time.

See, my husband is away on a three day camping trip.  That is why I am so excited.  Oh, as for the ceiling fans and other fixtures I bought… I took ‘em back.  One light is enough for me!  But honestly, it’s not that tought to do.  Ladies, if you want to take on the task of changing a light fixutre in your house and have questions… just ask me!  Now I know what I’m doing!

She will blow you away!

simon-cowell.jpg   It’s funny how we automatically doubt that someone can do a good, hard job… when we don’t even know them!

My Dad and Mom (they’re divorced… and they do know who I am :) doubted that I would make it through Bob Jones University!  Every time the phone rang, they thought it was the Dean of Women!  Now, I did get in trouble a couple times, got caught kissing my boyfriend (now husband) on campus while a tour of the University was going on… oye vey.  But alas… I graduated in 1999!  Got married in December that year!

Okay, enough about me.  In this video clip from Britain’s Got Talent, Faryl Smith is up for her audition.  She announces what she is going to sing and I LOVE SIMON COWELL’S FACE.  He’s smirking with disbelief that this 12 year old girl can get through this audition flawlessly.  One second he is smirking, that next he’s bewildered and mezmorized… as EVERYONE is!

Watch his expression change!  Once the video begins to load, skip ahead to about 1:25.  Absolutley amazing! You go Faryl Smith!!

PETA’s wacky

pic.jpg   PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has asked Ben & Jerry’s to make ice cream using human breast milk instead of cow’s milk. PETA says cow’s milk has been linked to juvenile diabetes, allergies, constipation, obesity, and prostate and ovarian cancer. Ben & Jerry’s responded saying, “We applaud PETA’s novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother’s milk is best used for her child.”

BREAST MILK ICECREAM?  I don’t think so.  Would you buy that?

I really believe this is a great gift.  The price ranges between $75 up to $200.  My husband got me the middle of the road Insignia, just perfect!  You can purchase them at any electronic outlet store.  He got mine from Best Buy.
